To run a fishery the size and stature of Mighty Avington takes a lot of hard work and dedication. Every aspect of the fishery has to be considered and a game plan put into operation. This is by no means easy and it's a measure of the team that everything is made to appear so.
We have turned the clock back a few years recently with the re-introduction of our own hatchery. Not since Sam Hollands day have fry been hatched at Avington, and it is my ardent belief that by re-introducing the hatchery, Avington will be better able to control both the quality and the quantity of fish needed to maintain our standards. We anticipate not only producing enough for our own needs, but hopefully will supply a few other friendly fisheries.
Sam Seall joined us as Fishery Director on the 1st of August 2006. Anyone who fished at Meon Springs fly fishery in Hampshire will remember Sam for the great job he did putting Meon Springs on the map during the six years he was there.
His knowledge of the game fishing industry together with other country sports and, in particular, gun dogs is unsurpassed. He complements the team of Dorjee, and Cameron and should you need any information on flies, stalking techniques, etc, he will be only to happy to help.
Dorjee is the Grounds Manager of Avington Trout Fishery. He will from time to time overlap his day to day work with helping other members of the team as they will, helping Dorjee.
Avington Trout Fishery is probably the best staffed, best equipped and best funded Fishery in the UK and with Dorjee being responsible for all the grounds, both on top of, and under the water, you will find the pleasure of your days fishing here enhanced.

Cameron Craigs joined us in June 2007. He studied at Sparsholt College for two years gaining a Foundation Degree in Sports Fisheries Management & Aquaculture. He has gained experience within the industry working at Chalk Springs, Albury Estate and on the River Test at Leckford.
Cameron also holds a degree in Horticulture and worked for the Royal Horticultural Society at Wisley. Cameron has a wealth of fly fishing experience and customers can benefit from his vast knowledge. ( He can sometimes be seen casting a fly himself ! ). He is now in charge of the fish farm side of the business, responsible for 'growing the fish on' and producing fin perfect specimens that will fight you all the way to the net!
We look forward to your continued custom and support, please let us know if there is anything the team can assist you with.
Bob West.
