The Trout Inn

 The Trout Inn, Itchen Abbas

Set in the heart of the beautiful Itchen Valley, a stones throw from the picturesque River Itchen, you will find The Trout Inn at Itchen Abbas, Hampshire. Said to be the location where Charles Kingsley had the inspiration to write 'The Water Babies', this lovely Nineteenth Century Coaching Inn was originally called The Plough.

Today, the stylish, non-smoking restaurant offers a warm welcome and a superb cuisine, using fresh, locally produced ingredients and the special flair of the talented chefs. The bar area has the charm and friendliness of a village local, an abundance of fishing artefacts and memorabilia, as well as a range of well kept ales and traditional bar snacks.

Upstairs, The Trout Inn boasts five beautifully appointed letting bedrooms, all with en-suite shower rooms and WCs, awarded 4 Crowns by the English Tourist Board. Ideal for Business stays or pleasure, and only 4 miles from Junction 9 of the M3 The Trout Inn has ample parking space.
